Drawing Scanning Services
Want to get rid of the archives of drawings due to lack of space?
Drawing scanning is a process of scanning large format drawings
such as site plans, drawings, maps and blue prints and then
converting them on computer digital format such as TIFF, PDF
or JPG
EDS has got a capability of scanning up to “E” size
drawings, which are slightly larger than “A0” size.
This can either be in Black and white, greyscale or colour mode.
The main advantage of scanning drawings is to preserve aged
or rare drawings in a secure format from which they can be easily
accessed. Once the paper drawings are scanned they can be shared
between other users and printed to any scale required.
The following are examples of some of the drawings which are
usually scanned:
|
- Engineering
plans
- Architectural
drawings
- Housing
plans
- Building
construction drawings
- Railway
plans
- Electrical
circuit drawings
- Ordinance
survey maps
If there are many drawings we use a process called indexing
to give unique references to each drawing for example,
a drawing number, title, drawing, issue or date. Naming the
files like this allows the client to search for any required
drawings by using multiple search terms and quickly find exactly
what they want. |
